These tomatoes are an endangered variety from Campania, from the foot of Mount Vesuvius, which is not suitable for industrial processing due to its nature and is therefore elaboratley hand-harvested and gently cooked in a water bath called ‘Bagna Maria’. But in return, it rewards us with an intense, sunny tomato aroma that had almost been lost to time.
Entire peeled tomatoes of the San Marzano variety, grown on the volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius. An incredibly versaitle tomato with a wonderfully sweet flavour that can be used for pasta, pizza, curry sauces or Spanish seafood stews.
