Meanwhile, the Passalacqua family currently owns more than 500 hectares in northern Apulia, in the Gargano National Park. The special Mediterranean microclimate, with mineral water filtered through the continent, makes the soil rich and fertile.

Currently, the children of Nino Passalacqua take care of the company: Giulia and her husband Mirko and Tiziano and Nino Jr. There, organic vegetables typical of the region are grown, including organic tomatoes.

Bio Orto produces delicious Italian tomato specialties, including passata, hand-peeled tomatoes and various tomato sauces, including basil or pepper. The tomatoes are harvested and selected manually. If necessary, they are dried in the Mediterranean sun and marinated in extra virgin olive oil (like sun-dried tomatoes).
