Aromatic Saffron Rice

Aromatic Saffron Rice has a mild taste and is excellent to accompany spicy curry dishes.

Ingredients

  • 225 grams basmati rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt mill
  • 1 handful Cardamom Grain
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel
  • 6 clove Grain
  • 1/2 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 25 grams unsalted butter

Preparation Method

  1. Rinse the rice. Place it in a large pan of boiling water with the salt, turmeric, cardamom, fennel, cloves, cinnamon, and bay leaves.
  2. Cook uncovered for 12 to 14 minutes or until the rice is soft. Drain and rinse under boiling water in a colander. Slowly heat the butter until melted. Remove the whole spices, if desired, before serving.
  3. This lightly spiced Indian rice is excellent to accompany all spicy curry dishes.
