Stewed Hake

Discover how to cook hake stew with vegetables in a practical and delicious way.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of hake
  • 2 onions cut into rounds
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of margarine
  • 0.5dl of olive oil
  • 4 bay leaves
  • vegetable broth
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • Half a glass of water
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt
  • Pepper to taste

Preparation Method

  1. Season the hake steaks with salt.
  2. In a pan put the oil and margarine and heat.
  3. Once hot, add the onion, garlic and bay leave. let it braise
  4. Add the tomato pulp, white wine, vegetable broth, water and thyme. Let it boil for 2 minutes.
  5. Place the hake steaks and season with a little pepper. Cover and let stew for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, turn the steaks over and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Accompany with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes and boiled vegetables.
